Product Research - Parnoramal Activity

in the officail trailer we see the build up to the film being watched for the first time, then we see two ordinary people who are creating a home vedio and the editing gives a sence of realism, it also gives a sense of voyarism as it looks like a home vedio.

Treatment- Trust No One

Inspector Jack is found mysteriously dead, with a message engraved into his skin; "Trust No One." The only witness to his murder is his partner, Detective Marsdon, who is currently in a coma in hospital. So new Inspector Flint is on the case trying to find Jack's killer. However, the lack of evidence and the lack of witnesses leads to dead end after dead end.
After a one-off visit to see little Jessica Marsdon, Inspector Flint starts to realise there maybe more to the case than he once thought. Little Jessica Marsdon may in fact be a vital clue into solving Jack's murder. However, he uncovers a deeply disturbing secret, involving an unsolved rape case from the past and the Marsdon family. This leads him to think that Jack wasn't another case of a "good cop killed by thugs." This time, it was personal.
Marsdon fooled everyone into thinking he was in a coma, throwing Flint off every possible lead. Out of revenge, he murdered Jack for raping his wife Sarah.

Research - Graphs

Before we can make our film we must do our audience research. Our research has led us to how we should construct our opening sequence what music and what our target audience do in there spare time and 3 horror/thrillers they have thoroughly enjoyed, we have shown our research in 4 different graphs and we have seen this to be the most important when looking through the information we have collected.

From our research we can see that our target audience of 15-18 27% prefer R&B music. We can incorporate this into our thriller/horror by linking this to our characters or contrasting this with hip hop which was second best at 18% and making a remix of the two to create an opening theme tune.

the most watched horror/thriller is ''SAW'' at 23%. With this information we can tell that people seem to like a psychological twist and a chase to catch the killer. We can also see that ''Paranormal Activity'' 1 and 2 came in at 17% and this shows us that our target audience like things to do with the paranormal and the unexpected so we can implement this into our opening sequence. We also know that the third favourite is ''The Wrong Turn'' (1,2,3) yet again we can tell that they like a challenge when watching a film.

When looking through our research we felt it was important we knew what our target audience get up to so we could link our opening sequence so that it could relate to them. Our research shows us that the use of the internet at 22% was the most popular activity that our target audience do in their spare time along with reading at 17% which shows that our target audience have an imagination. We can in some way can relate the characters to the target audience.
The genre of film that was preferred was comedy at 27% which shows that our target audience have a scense of humor so we in some way can use this to our advantage and implement this into our opening scene. Horror came in second at 17% showing us that they like a combination of the two so we can create something which would relate to our target audience and the research we have.

Overall the information collected from our questioners have led us to the conclusion that the music preferred is R&B and Hip Hop and in some way when creating a theme tune for our opening scene we can combine the two. we also know that our target audience like the unexpected and horror/thrillers that have a challenge and is jaw dropping. We also know that our target audience like to go on the Internet a lot and also like to read, which shows imagination and an interest in different things hence the fact they read and books generally lead you to imagine your own version of the story and the characters. We can also tell that the prefered genre of films is horror and comedy which is a good combination and it can break tention and also build tension.

Preliminary Task By Saima , shadia And Hanadi

This is our preliminary task, in which we had to use the skill 180 rule which means we can not break the invisible horizontal line going through the two characters in the scene. This is perpendicular to the camera's view point, from were the shot is taken.
If the camera breaks this rule, it can be very confusing for the audience as the direction the characters are facing, are flipped around and changed. You would see the character on the right, flipped over to the left and vice versa.
Overall, the prelim was a good chance for us to get to use and understand how the camera functions work, as well as certain rules used for filming a scene.
