Saima Ahmed - Question 7 : Looking Back At Your Preliminary Task , What Do You Feel You Have Learnt In The Progression From It To The Full Product?

When looking back to the 'Preliminary Task', we were taught about the 180 degree rule, which made us more aware of the boundaries of the movement of the camera and the angles, our 'Preliminary Task' was based on the 180 degree, the idea that there is a line a boundary between two characters, and we should not cross the line to make it make more sense however at any point and if you cross the line you must show the full turning while filming, so it does not confuse the audience when watching.

I have picked up many useful skills, from the 'Preliminary Task' for example being able to potion the camera, and use a tilt shot more effective shot, and while gaining these skills have used it in my production work throughout, for example continuity shot, which allowed us to show the character in many different angles,we also did 'test shots',to perfect each shot.

another skill which was very useful when filming was shot reverse shot is a technique where one character is shown looking at another character and the character is shown looking back at the first character, the viewer then assumes that they are looking at each other. we have used this in our 'Production Work'.
